TIG WELDER (TUNGSTEN INERT GAS)

This training will provide you with staff who are capable of operating TIG welding equipment independently and producing welds of the highest quality on new build or maintenance projects.

  • Welding sheet metal in any position.
  • Welded assemblies of pipes and tappings in any position.
  • Work on different shades of material.
  • Finding solutions to the problems raised by participants.

  • Protective gases: classification and choice.
  • Choice of setting parameters.
  • Pulsed TIG applications.
  • Edge preparation and welding methods.
  • Means of inspection and weld defects.
  • Practical health and safety ~80%.
  • Principles of generator setting.
  • Welding beads on all types of joints and in all positions.
  • Welding on stainless "carbon" steels and light alloys for thicknesses of 1 to 3 mm.
  • Welding of "carbon" pipes, first pass TIG electrode filling.
  • Optimising settings.
  • Drafting a welding operating procedure (MOS).
